Evil field trip

The field trip itself was so boring, and I regret getting to school before 7 o'clock to go on it -__-;;. What kept me sane was the little times in-between each lecture and lunch time.

The first lecture was on community radio. I thought that just Ty was going with me, but Max, Danny, Abby, Matt, and Whitney came along, too. I learned a few things there, but it was just too early, and after having sat in a bus for an hour and a half, I was not particularly ready for lectures. However, there were only a few others in the lecture besides the rest of the SHG students and I. So it was a fairly intimate little group for the first class.

However, there were tons of people in the second lecture. It was really hot too, and the chairs were uncomfortable, so I wanted it to be over quickly. This one was on music journalism, but it was done by a man who created this 'zine called Punk Planet or something, and I just felt insulted by some of the things he said, and Danny agreed. We thought that he was way too closed minded. Well, he is the creator of a punk magazine, after all. Eh.

Anyway, after that, a bunch of us left the building to find lunch. We walked around for quite a bit first, checking out some stores. The guys were overly interested in stores that sold marijuana paraphernalia, which made be uncomfortable, but I tolerated it because I did not want to venture out alone. But we ate lunch at a little sandwich shop. We then quickly popped into a record shop, then walked back to the main campus building.

On the way back to the campus, we passed by Corey (or is it Corie?) who was in my Journalism class last year. She looked disgusting. Her cheeks were sunken in, her hip bones were protruding nastily, and her arms were extremely thin. She was really sick to look at. Why do people do that to themselves? It is gross and unhealthy.

But... when we arrived back in the building, everyone--all 900 of us at the conference--were supposed to go to some big room to listen to a talk on the increase of technology in media. With that many people, it was really hot again. But this presentation was really boring. I literally had to force myself to stay awake. After it was over, I happily left the room to find the room for the next presentation.

Well, I somehow got the wrong room. I was supposed to go to room 409, but went to room 209 instead, so... I just stayed in 209 because Kelly and Ryan were in there. This was a presentation on the set-up and layout of a typical 10 o-clock news program. It was somewhat interesting.

Afterwards, the twenty of us SHG students got back on our little bus and headed back home. I was almost falling asleep in the bus, too. Mrs. Budde and Danny talked to me from time to time, and thus were really the only things keeping me awake.

When we arrived back at SHG, it was about 4:30. I rushed to my car and drove swiftly home, where I most happily lazed about.

But I seriously could never be a journalist. Yes, I am an editor for my high school's newspaper, but that is different from a professionally done newspaper.

My dad just bought me this. The circumstances surrounding the purchase of it are rather amusing. My dad sent me an e-mail with that URL, and I replied with, "Hmm." He answered with, "Not interested then...? Hmmm....?" and I replied, "Of course I am :P!! But it is weird saying that to you :P." I just think it is amusing that my dad is feeding my liking for m/m stuff. He's the coolest ^_^.

I AM going to clean my room this weekend. I have got to. I have to keep telling myself that I AM going to clean it.

But right now, I am really tired. I hope Lizzy writes AVS tomorrow morning... she said she might. I hope so, because I want to write and can't until she does, of course.
