Museum and depth, for once.

I went on a Sociology field trip today, and was able to miss most of English and then all of study hall, and thank god I left when I did >:(

Ahem. But anyway, my Sociology class went to the Funeral Museum. It was so, so, so cool! There was a bunch of embalming machines, and coffins, and all sorts of neat stuff. The curator even showed us "the back room," as he called it, where he stores all of the rest of the artifacts that are not open to the public. So, so cool! I really, really want to go back again soon.

Carl was amusing in the museum. When the curator said he did not have any bodies in the museum today ready to be embalmed, Carl was like, "Aww, darn!" in his cynical sort of tone.

Oh, in Art class, Christina was not around, so I got to talk the whole period with Angie. "Finally, some non-trivial, deep discussion!" she told me, and I felt the same way about our discussion ^_^. We talked of the various states of conformity, and then theology most of the period. She told me that she plans to convert to a Wiccan/Neo-Pagan sort of faith, and I was so happy for her! Wicca and Neo-Paganism are two very beautiful religions, and they place more emphasis on the Goddess, so that is a plus as well. I studied Wicca and Neo-Paganism for a long while... I have several books on those faith systems. I support Wicca and Neo-Paganism 100%.

Speaking of theology, I swerved my class into defending gay marriage, and some were getting very passionate about it. Again, Carl is in my class, and he is a democrat like me, of course. He seemed to be MSTing things my teacher said, which was amusing.

But anyway, in theology class, my teacher wrote "Human Nature = Male + Female = Children" on the chalkboard. He explained how it is in one's human nature to procreate, to be with someone of the opposite sex. I rose my hand with an air of slight arrogance and said, "Scientists believe sexual orientation is determined genetically. So if a someone is attracted to another person of the same sex, it is in his or her genetic make-up, in his or her human nature, to do so. What say you to that?" That sure got discussion started. My teacher did not know what to say to me, though. He said, "I don't know," as in, there was no "Catholic" answer for it. There is nothing more agitating to hear in a theology class than "I don't know." I heard that several times today, and it really annoys me. That is why I have a religion that knows all the answers -_-;. Anyway, Maggie and Rachael were really getting into the discussion, Carl all the while cynically stating ridiculous church rules. Gotta love Carl.

Speaking of him, in Sociology this week, he did this amazing speech on how the biggest social ill in our country today is George W. Bush. I sigh contentedly. I couldn't agree more. But then again, I am a democrat, I care for equal rights, I crave change for the better, and am a pacifist. Republicans (stereotypically) are none of those ^___^.

And the speech brought smugness and contentment to me for another reason as well. See, there are these two evil boys, Steve and J.C., who snicker, laugh, or make jokes whenever the words "black," "gay," "Buddhist," "Hispanic," "lesbian," "Jew," etc. are said. And they are major republicans. They were scowling and muttering, "This is pissing me off," all during Carl's speech. Serve's 'em right, the little bastards.

...Sorry, but I get really offensive towards ignorant, immature, stupid people ^__^;.

...No, on second thought, I'm not sorry ^___^.

...and guess what? Steve is becoming a police officer! I sure want him out protecting our townspeople. NOT.

Mom bought me Dido's "No Angel" CD, and also Pure Moods IV. I was excited. I love Dido very much. And I have five Pure Moods CDs now ^_^.

I made a Morning Star veggie-pizza for lunch. I did not like the toppings at all, but the crust and the sauce were really good. I picked all of the veggie-meat and so forth off the top and just ate the crust ^_^;.
